tax. jr. syn. of Pterocystidiopsis Deflandre, 1937, according to Courtinat in Courtinat and Gaillard, 1980. Lentin and Williams, 1981, retained Caddasphaera as a separate genus

Description:
Body hollow, spherical, wall thin. Surface smooth to coarsely granulate. Body surrounded by an irregular kalyptra. Excystment via a pylome, when observed.
