Cahiers de Micropaléontologie, N.S., vol. 9, no. 3, pp. 5-15, pl. 1-5 Morphological analysis of well-preserved Early and Middle Jurassic (Germany, Switzerland, England) and Early Cretaceous material (France, England) allowed to distinguish and to redefine, among a group of superficially similar forms which often have been mixed up in the literature, the following four species: Wallodinium cylindricum (Habib, 1970) Duxbury, 1983 n. emend., Wallodinium laganum n. sp., Andreedinium (formerly Wallodinium) elongatum (Beju, 1971) Feist-Burkhardt & Monteil in Feist-Burkhardt, 1990 emend., and Andreedinium aff. elongatum. The dinoflagellate afffinities of these taxa are demonstrated by these new observations. The recognition of these four distinct taxa increases the stratigraphical resolving power in the Jurassic and Cretaceous.
