Ioannides, N.S., Colin, J.-P. and Jan du Chêne, R., 1988; A preliminary investigation of Kimmeridgian dinoflagellates and ostracodes from Quercy, southwest France. Bull. Centres rech. Explor.-Prod. Elf-Aquitaine, 12(1): 471-491 Abstract The present paper provides the first account of Kimmeridgian (Mutabilis- Gravesia ammonite Zones) Dinoflagellates and associated Ostracodes from southwest France. Comparisons with coeval assemblages from Northwest Europe show close similarities. The Dinoflagellates largely correspond to Woollam and Riding"s (1983) Scriniodinium luridum Zone and N÷hr-Hansen"s (1986) Stephanelytron scarburghense- Perisseiasphaeridium pannosum Subzones. There are brief remarks on similar ostracode associations; their affinity to the Galliaecytheridea elongata Zone of Christensen and Kilenyi, emend Wilkinson (1938), is noted. Environmental interpretations based on ostracode faunas and assemblages of ddinoflagellates and organic matter are consistent with the present sedimentation picture accepted for the Aquitaine Basin.
